For the first time in the history of Mpanda district and the New Katavi Region, the youths who used to be friends on social networks have decided to make a step from just chatting to serving the society.
This has happened when youths from different kinds of social and educational status decided to put their efforts together and conduct an academic colloquium on 27th June, 2012 that comprised about 400 students from ten secondary schools of Mpanda Urban who came together at The St. Mary's social Hall and discuss several issues concerning their academic success as well social development.
The colloquium aimed at inspiring, motivating and encouraging youngsters in secondary schools to put more efforts in achieving their dreams through academic progress. Several topics were discussed among the students. Topics like; relationships in schools led by Miss Shamila Shaban, Academic performances and progress led by Martin Nyambala, Joseph Kulemba and Frank Banka, Reproductive Health to students led by Miss Felister Mbogo and Gamaliel Raiton, Police Jamii led by the representative from Police force Mr. Ngonyani with the OCS of Mpanda. as well the knowledge about internal tourism led by Mr. Japhari Mkelemi and Idd Fumbo
Frankly speaking, all these presentation were hot and successful as students grasped many important ideas and ways to make their success in life and academics and that never giving up and behaving well are the key milestones to their success.
It is now the time for other groups, people and organizations who are committed to conduct different projects and programs for the aim of serving the local people in Katavi so that they play part in then development of their society.
We would like to send our gratitude to all those who made this colloquium to be successful and outstanding, we appreciate all their contributions whether financial or kind contributions, all what was done could not be successful if there were no help from people like these. They are blessed for serving their society.
